CT Scan

Prior to Taylor's surgery, she needed to have a CT scan so that the surgeon could see if there could be any possible complications with the surgery and placement of the CI coil. For the CT scan, Taylor had to have a General Anaesthetic.

We had to wait in paediatric day patients for our turn, trying to keep Taylor distracted with toys and ride ons as she was unable to have anything to eat before her GA.

We were taken down to CT about 9:30am and Craig held her while they put her to sleep. It was quite upsetting to see, but good to have a test run of a GA before her actual surgery. The CT didn't take long at all and she woke up very quickly when taken into recovery. She was absolutely beside herself and nothing we could do could console her. She was absolutely screaming, not interested in food (although she must have been very hungry). They very quickly let us go back to the Day Ward (not surprising for the noise she was making). We managed to get some food into her in the Day Ward, but we wasn't very happy. After about an hour they let us go home and as soon as Taylor was in the buggy and heading to the car she was as happy as anything. Once we got home she tottered around, although very wobbly she seemed fine.
